Sound & Mint…

We got a Football Shirt…

We call ourselves footballshirts.co.uk but with lots of effort and pleading, we’ve manged to get ourselves a Rugby Shirt for our crunch tie against Umbro tonight. Yes… you read correct, we are wearing the Rugby Shirts of Saddleworth Rangers ARLFC, who have kindley lent us this very good looking Nike shirt for our first ever game against Umbro.

Our keeper is out with an injury, so it could be an embarising first tie… We’ll let you know how we fair tommorrow.

Footballshirts.co.uk .vs. Umbro

We’ve only gone and got ourselves a crunch tie against the mighty Umbro next Monday. Our lineup consists of a bunch of players with the limited skills required to kick a Jabulani, but footballshirts.co.uk are yet to land themselves a Kit for this historical occasion.

We’ll be that scruffy team with odd socks, while the Umbro lads will be sporting one of these baby’s (Get Your Team Tailored By Umbro). Below is our ‘Big Name’ lineup, on the off chance you may be interested…

Dutch Football Federation – 2010 FIFA World Cup T-shirt

Hup Holland Hup

These innovative t-shirt’s have been created for the Dutch Football Federation to celebrate 2010 FIFA World Cup. The simplicity is genius and the idea should most certainly be incorporated into football shirts of the future, or not?

But in my opinion Fabrizio Ravanelli would most certainly of loved a football shirt like this during his iconic celebration.

As the Dutch would say Hup Holland Hup.

The world’s largest football shirt

Now I love football shirts, possibly even more than the next man, but I have to concede that this young man from Hinckley in Leicestershire beats me to the title of biggest football shirt fan. In fact he is attempting to break the world record for the largest football shirt.

He is appealing to fans, players and clubs to donate football shirts which he will stich together and create one large shirt.

He has 600 so far but needs about 2,000 to break the current record of 71.35m by 79.15m (234ft 1in by 259ft 8in)from the bbc.

Good luck to Mr Justin Walley from everyone at footballshirts.co.uk

Football kits bringing the world together

Solvina football shirt - world cup 2010

Solvina football shirt - world cup 2010

Hello big ears,

I seem to have rather caught the blogging fever and felt myself strangely compelled to write another blog post. So please indulge me in my football shirt related hyperbole.

When I was a young girl lad nothing used to give me greater pleasure than seeing for the first time the new football kits of the teams competing in the World Cup. Well perhaps the flags, I always had a strange fascination with flags. Anyway flags aside, I thought my first post should take a peek into the new generation of World Cup football kits.

Halo old chaps

England football shirt

Hello,

This is the first of what will hopefully be many blog posts regarding my child like love of football kits and the evolution of their designs throughout the decades, including the odd revolution too.

The purpose of this blog is to discuss and update all fellow football kit enthusiasts on the latest designs flying out the clubs, or if I’m being pedantic, the latest designs that are spewing out of the Far East.
Well that’s enough from me for now.
